Do it! Finish it.

Bad Moon is a movie about how sibling relationships influence family dynamics.  It's a movie about a boy's undying love for his dog, his only friend.   Also, it is a werewolf movie from the late 90's that hardly anyone remembers. It is so 90's that the kid in the movie is played by Dennis the Menace.  Mason Gamble will forever be Dennis the Menace, regardless of how much he thinks he's changed and how much facial hair he tries to grow.  Maybe on his tombstone it will say " Hey Mr. Wilsoooon."  That was unnecessarily dark and I will now continue discussing this movie.
The story is about a single mother (Janet) and her kid (Bret) who get a visit from the Janet's brother (Ted)who  moves his Airstream trailer into the woman's beautiful isolated house, bought by her fancy lawyer money.   However,  Ted is carrying a secret, because when he was in the jungle in an Asian country, he got bit by a werewolf whom he eventually killed.  The point is, he brought this disease/curse  back home from the jungle because diseases always come from other countries and never the United States.  Eventually his secret is out due to his journal being lazily hidden for anyone to find. The dog whose name is Thor tries to protect the family and a battle ensues where somebody wins and somebody dies.

The one transformation scene  was  pretty interesting, a combination of good makeup mixed in with weird CGI.  If I can get back to Dennis the Menace for a bit, I think I'm realizing one of the reasons I dislike the kid in this movie is because he is very smug about claiming to know about werewolves as he's watching Werewolf of London but calls Henry Hull the Wolfman.   Anyway, the creature's final transformation photograph well on camera but their limited movement remind you they are puppets.  Still, the designs one of the nicer bi-pedal werewolf designs in film, as long as they don't move their face too much.

The overall story is a little weaker in the second half of the movie but still manages to keep the viewer interested.  This movie is worth watching.at least once if anything to witness the worse firearm carrying character in the all of cinematic history. Geez Louise, Janet is a strong woman in every aspect but she cannot load operate a gun to save her life, literally.  This movie will also help you appreciate your dog more, and that is always a good thing.
