(Horn honks)

Holyyyyyyyy crap.  When Damien Leone said he knew this movie had to outdo the original in terms of violence and gore he was not kidding.  From the very beginning, Terrifier 2 is a bloody splatter-fest that has you glued to your seat.  This is the most bloody and gory film I have ever seen in my entire life.  At 2 hours and 18 minutes, you are in for a ride friend!

This movie expands on the original and introduces several new characters that are potentially going to be in future installments seeing as how this movie did so well at the box office.  The main characters are high school kids who unfortunately, have a run in with Art the Clown and most of them do not make it until the end of the movie.  I bring that up to say that the kills in this movie are phenomenal and so well done that they should get prizes.  Having said that, the movie at times does feel like it is too gory and violent and brings to mind this scene:

Another thing this film does really well and often is change the tone of a scene in a second.  For example, in the middle of a kill, Art hears a gun cock back and he stops and mimes a face with his constantly smiling face and it's hilarious.  Of course, there were some idiots that brought a kid to watch this bloody movie.  You know the type, parents who like horror and try hard to be cool by letting their kid watch mature things because the kid "can handle it." Nobody is going to tell them how to raise their own kid, because their kid is different and gets it.  Anyway, I wonder how the shock of the graphic kills followed immediately by laughter from the audience translates to a 10-year old (at most) brain.  While we're at it, what's up with bringing service dogs inside loud movie theaters?  I hate people, I really hate people.
The movie did get me a couple times with some jump scares at the abandoned carnival.  The carnival was an amazing set piece and whoever dressed the set should get an award.  By the time the movie ended, I felt exhausted from always being on edge and being tricked into/enjoying a graphic kill.  Seeing Art the clown use home-made weapons and acid to eviscerate people and then laughing at the wacky things he does in the middle of kills is tiring, that knucklehead.  I will say that the film has a bit of a supernatural element that left some questions up in the air, presumably because they want to work on a third installment.  When you go watch this, don't get too attached to any one character, almost everybody dies and or suffers.  David Howard Thornton who plays Art deserves a lot of credit as he is an exceptional actor, miming, smiling and killing.  They did pull a Mae Young/ Mark Henry moment in the end when a woman gave birth to an Art the Clown head.  I did not understand that coda and found it strange.  Please go support this indie movie and hopefully we will get a continuation of the story. I would really like to know why the faceless womanin Chris Jericho's care gave birth to a live clown head.
