"That's what I love about LA, all the damn vampires."


 Day Shift is the second spooky movie to premiere in a streaming format in the month of August and after finishing watching this movie, I predict it will do good numbers.  It takes place in LA (the San Fernando Valley) and has Snoop Dogg and Jaimee Foxx.  It was an enjoyable movie with a good balance of horror, action and comedy

Basically, Jaimee Foxx is an undercover vampire hunter that goes around LA killing vampires for money until one day it comes back to "bite" him.  Now with the help of his union delegate/ sidekick Dave Franco, he has a couple days to go  for the biggest hunt and sve his family.  The movie is way more interesting than that non-spoiler description.  Dave Franco is funny and the action scenes are great.  The movie follows its own vampire lore and mythology which works in that universe.  There are vampires of all races because it is LA and that was interesting to see.  

I really do not want to spoil the movie its opening week but I recommend you watch it if you enjoy, fun, action filled spooky movies.  Do not go in expecting to be terrified or trying to analyze the details of the move. It was a fun watch that leaves it open for a sequel which I hope we get to see.  The characters go through a journey that leaves some of them in a very different place than in the beginning.  Plus, the movie has Snoop Dogg who hasn't seen the undead since Bones and it's fun to see him on screen being bad ass and repping the Crips as usual.

  You don't want no smoke with the BX. Monster Vs Monster      It's already Halloween time over here and Universal Halloween Horror Nights  has a;ready announced they're doing a Stranger Things maze again this year, along with a Holidayz in Hell maze.  It's spelled wrong so that means it's gotta be scary.  For 2018 they had a similar scare zone with twisted holiday things as monsters, I thought it was just ok.
